Schouwburg Het Park

Schouwburg Het Park is the main theater for professional performing arts in Hoorn, a city in the North Holland province of the Netherlands. The venue serves both professional productions and regional amateur groups, giving it a dual role that keeps it active across a broad range of programming. Known locally simply as Het Park, it also goes by the name Parktheater, reflecting its position as a well established civic cultural institution in this historic port city.

The programming at Schouwburg Het Park spans a wide spectrum. Tribute acts, singer songwriters and touring bands have all passed through, with past concerts including an Elton John tribute show featuring Jamai Loman and a performance by Irish folk group The Kilkennys. The venue has also welcomed international touring acts, pointing to a willingness to book outside the purely local circuit. This mix of professional touring productions alongside amateur and community events is central to the character of the place, making it something of a general purpose stage for the broader Hoorn region rather than a specialist music club.

As a schouwburg, which is the Dutch term for a traditional theater building with a formal stage and seated auditorium, Het Park operates in the tradition of the regional repertory theater. This architectural and institutional context means the venue suits everything from dramatic performances and musicals to amplified concerts and tribute evenings, all within a setting that is more formal than a club but more local and accessible in feel than a major city concert hall.
