Theater Kerkrade is a mid sized performing arts venue in the South Limburg city of Kerkrade, operating as part of Parkstad Limburg Theatres (PLT), the regional umbrella organisation that also oversees Theater Heerlen and the Toon Hermans Theatre. The PLT structure gives the three venues a shared programming and administrative foundation while each maintains its own identity and audience. Theater Kerkrade traces its origins back to the Wijngrachttheater and has since become part of HUB Kerkrade, a broader cultural complex in the city.

The venue's main performance space is the Grote Zaal, which hosts a varied programme spanning music, cabaret, dance and theatre. This mix makes it a general purpose cultural stage rather than a venue dedicated to a single genre, serving the everyday cultural life of Kerkrade and the wider Parkstad region. The programming tends to reflect the tastes of a regional South Limburg audience, drawing in both touring productions and local or national acts across a range of styles.

Beyond its regular schedule, Theater Kerkrade plays a role in the larger events that define the city's cultural calendar. The venue is one of the sites involved in the World Music Contest, known as WMC Kerkrade, a wind band and brass competition with a history spanning more than 75 years that draws participants from across the globe. That connection places Theater Kerkrade within a tradition of serious ensemble music that is unusual for a venue of its size and gives the building a significance in the international band music world that extends well beyond its regional programming.
