Pink Floyd Project - The Wall

AFAS Theater is a theatre in Leusden, in the province of Utrecht, and it is mainly used for touring productions and live music. The sources available here are thin, so what can be said with confidence is limited to its role and the way it is talked about by the artists who play there. The venue turns up on the Dutch theatre circuit as a regular stop for touring acts. Tribute and cover productions have used it as a starting point for national runs. The U2 tribute show U2 THE MUSIC, billed as U250, opened a Dutch theatre tour at AFAS Theater, and a separate U2 Forever theatre tour has also listed it as an opening date. For tours of this kind, a venue in Leusden is chosen as the first night before the production moves on to other theatres around the country, which suggests a room that works well for staged, seated shows with full production. The building itself leaves an impression on performers. One act that played the opening night of its Dutch theatre tour described it as futuristic, which hints at a modern look rather than the traditional horseshoe auditorium found in older Dutch city theatres. Beyond that, the sources do not give details such as capacity, the layout of its halls, or its history, so none are claimed here. What can be said is that AFAS Theater sits comfortably in the mix of mid sized theatres that bring touring music shows, tribute productions and similar live performances to towns outside the larger cities.
