About
VoxTechnik centres on a concept that is genuinely hard to pigeonhole: a four piece live band playing nothing but 80s synthpop, fronted by a fifth member who happens to be a robot. That robot frontman exists for one stated purpose, recreating what the act calls "The Future of the Past". The show pairs the music with visuals projected onto a large circular screen, and the original vocalists from the songs being performed appear both in sound and on screen. The set runs around two and a half hours, which puts it well beyond the usual tribute act format. The connection to Italo disco is baked into the project's identity, giving the whole thing a specific stylistic flavour rather than a generic 80s party feel.
