About
A Forest of Stars play black metal with a Victorian costume drama attached. The seven piece from Leeds present themselves in period style, working through themes of occultism and social decay, and they perform under stage aliases like Mister Curse and Katheryne, Queen of the Ghosts. Musically they take atmospheric black metal and cross it with psychedelic touches, then bring in instruments you don't usually find in the genre, such as violin and flute. That puts them somewhere between black metal, progressive metal and the avant garde. Their album Stack Overflow in Corpse Pile Interface came out on Prophecy Productions, and it runs to six long tracks. The band also dropped off the radar for a good stretch before returning to the stage.
