About
Also known as: A Ha, A-ha, Aha
Few bands have a debut quite like a ha's. Their first album, Hunting High and Low, hit number one in Norway, number two in the UK, and spun off 'Take On Me', which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and won six MTV Video Music Awards in a single night, more than any artist across the first three years of the awards combined. The rotoscoped pencil sketch video is still one of the most recognisable clips in pop history. They also became the first Norwegian act to score a number one hit in the United States. The Oslo trio of Morten Harket, Paul Waaktaar Savoy and Magne Furuholmen kept releasing records well beyond their 1980s peak, racking up eleven studio albums in total. After a split following their 2010 Ending on a High Note Tour, they came back together in 2015 and have kept going since, with their most recent album True North landing in October 2022. Along the way they set a Guinness World Record for the biggest paying rock concert attendance, drawing 198,000 people to Maracanã Stadium at Rock in Rio.
