About
Also known as: Adele Adkins, Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, Adèle, アデル, 阿黛尔, 아델
Few artists have reshaped pop music the way Adele has. Her mezzo soprano voice and unflinching emotional honesty turned her second album, 21, into the best selling album of the entire 21st century, sitting at the top of the Billboard 200 for 24 weeks. Songs like "Rolling in the Deep", "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain" became instant classics, and the record earned her six Grammy Awards including Album of the Year. She kept that momentum going with 25, the first album ever to sell over three million copies in a single week in the US, and the Bond theme "Skyfall" added an Academy Award to her trophy shelf. Her fourth album, 30, arrived in 2021 with "Easy on Me" leading the way, and that track picked up a Grammy in 2023. Across more than 120 million records sold worldwide, her catalogue sits in a league of its own.
