About
Also known as: A.A.L, A.A.L., AAL
Against All Logic is the dancefloor leaning alias of New York producer Nicolas Jaar, a project that lets him dig deeper into house, techno, and club music while keeping the warped sampling and experimental edge that defines his work. Where his output under his own name tends toward the abstract, Against All Logic zeroes in on rhythm and texture, blending left field house with ambient and downtempo moods in a way that works just as well late at night on a sound system as it does at home. The project has been active since the 2010s and spans a range that stretches from deep house warmth to more experimental techno territory, all filtered through Jaar's ear for unusual samples and off kilter beatmaking.
