About
Aidan & the Wild is the stage name of Dutch multi instrumentalist Diederik van den Brandt, who sits somewhere between americana and indie folk. Think of the territory shared by Ben Howard, Kurt Vile, Paul Simon and Jim Croce. He leans on a bag of unconventional guitar techniques, and the result sounds like the Laurel Canyon era if it had happened fifty years later. The music pairs showy guitar playing with driving rhythms and dreamy melodies, with a slightly offbeat freshness running through it. His debut album, Revelation Never Came, was produced by Diederik himself in his attic and drew plenty of praise. By now he has racked up over a million Spotify streams and around 600 shows, which is a lot of road for a songwriter still building his name.
