About
AJR built their name from the ground up, literally, starting as street performers in New York City parks before the internet gave them a bigger stage. The brothers, Adam, Jack, and Ryan Met, write and produce everything themselves out of a home studio, blending pop, hip hop, electronic music, and jazz into a sound that is distinctly theirs. Their 2013 debut single "I'm Ready" samples SpongeBob SquarePants and went platinum in the US and triple platinum in Australia, which tells you a lot about how they operate: quirky ideas executed with genuine craft. Sia heard an early tweet and helped connect them to management, and the rest followed fast. Since then AJR has stacked up eight platinum singles, including "Weak", "Sober Up" with Rivers Cuomo, and "Bang!", which hit the top ten of the Hot 100 and won a Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Song. Their albums Neotheater and OK Orchestra both cracked the Billboard 200 top ten, and Billboard ranked them among the 100 top selling touring artists of 2024.
