About
Also known as: AG DONG MYU JI SYEON, Akdong Musician, 악동뮤지션, 악뮤
AKMU are a brother and sister duo from South Korea, and a lot of the country thinks of them as "The Nation's Siblings". They broke through by winning the second season of K pop Star, then debuted in 2014 with Play, an album written and produced entirely by Lee Chan hyuk. It went to number one on the Gaon Album Chart and spun off three singles: "200%", "Melted" and "Give Love". It also took Best Pop Album at the Korean Music Awards. The run since has been strong. The Puberty series, Spring and Winter, was critically praised, and "Last Goodbye" was a big hit. Then came Sailing in 2019, whose lead single "How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love" topped the Circle Digital Chart and sold 2.5 million digital copies. These days they run their own independent label, Center of Inspiration, and their video for "Love Lee" landed in 2023.
