AKRIILA blends alternative pop, reggaeton, trap and drum and bass into something that feels distinctly her own, and her 2024 debut album Epistolares put that on full display. Rolling Stone noted a shift in her sound toward a more commercial reggaeton direction heading into that release, though she sees herself less as a trap or reggaeton artist and more as a pop artist in the same broad tent as Charli XCX and Rosalía. She counts FKA Twigs, Rosalía's Motomami, Arca and Julieta Venegas among her key influences, which gives you a pretty good sense of the range she's working with. The Chilean singer, rapper and songwriter performed at Lollapalooza Chile and Argentina in 2024, and the deluxe edition Epistolares+ followed in 2025 with new collaborations including BB Trickz and Latin Mafia. She also teamed up with producer Dinamarca on the three track EP headphones!, a project she described as leaning heavily into his sound while keeping her own percussive punch. Her recent single "mal comunicada" dropped in May 2025, keeping the momentum going.
