About
AliA describes themselves as a "hybrid rock band", and that tag actually holds up. The Japanese group blends classical music and violin with hard rock, alternative rock, metal, anime music and J pop, all held together by vocalist Ayame's presence and a lineup that came together quickly after their 2018 formation. Their 2019 EP AliVe set an early benchmark, produced by Satori Hiraide who had previously worked with Uverworld, and the track "Limit" from that EP landed as the opening theme for the web anime Inō no AICis. AliA built a reputation partly through anime tie ins, with their song "Realize" serving as the theme for a Nippon TV drama, "Aikotoba" closing out Our Dating Story, and "Kokoro no Naka" ending the first season of Tales of Wedding Rings. Their debut album Me arrived in December 2021. More recently, "NewGame" served as the opening theme for Gods' Games We Play, and the band is set to provide the opening theme for season two of Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World.
