Winning season six of The Next Star in 2013 with over three million votes put Alicia Moffet on the map, and the prize came with something real: a deal to record a single through Sony Music Canada. That led to "Why Do Boys Lie" in 2014, and a spot on La Voix in 2015 kept her name circulating in the Québec music scene. Her sound sits in pop and soul territory, warm and direct without a lot of fuss. Her debut album Billie Ave., out in June 2020, was a more personal statement, with some tracks written alongside Milk & Bone and Jonathan Roy. She followed that up with Intertwine in early 2022, which she has described as the most accurate reflection of herself to date. The video for "Lullaby" came out around the same time, and "Beautiful Scar" showed her leaning further into a polished pop soul direction.
