About
Alison's Halo named their drum machine 'Alison' and built a sound around dreamy vocals and loud, spacey guitars that put them squarely in the shoegaze and dream pop world. Formed in Tempe, Arizona in 1992, they wasted no time landing opening slots for acts like the Verve, Curve, and the Boo Radleys, and played festivals including South by Southwest and CMJ Music Marathon. Their debut single 'Dozen' came out in 1995, and the compilation album Eyedazzler 1992 to 1996 captured their best early work. That record got a proper expanded reissue in 2017 through Manufactured Recordings as part of The Shoegaze Archives project, with remastered tracks, the 'Dozen' single and unreleased demos. After disbanding in the late 90s and reuniting in 2009, the band has kept at it, with new singles appearing as recently as late 2024 and into 2025.
