About
Alma Mathijsen is a Dutch writer who also performs as a spoken word artist, bringing her literary work to life in front of an audience. Her texts sit somewhere between prose and performance, often drawing directly from her fiction writing. In collaborative settings she has worked alongside musicians, letting her words unfold against live instrumentation. She was in the process of completing a novel, and material from that work has fed directly into her stage performances, giving those shows an experimental, unfinished quality that feels very much intentional.
