Amy Lee is the co founder, lead vocalist, and keyboardist of Evanescence, the rock band that blends gothic metal, symphonic rock, and classical textures into something that still sounds like nobody else. A classically trained pianist, she has been the driving creative force behind the band's songwriting from the start, drawing on influences as varied as Mozart, Danny Elfman, and death metal. Outside Evanescence, she has composed music for films including War Story and Voice from the Stone, and released the covers EP Recover Vol. 1 and the children's album Dream Too Much, both in 2016. She has collaborated with a notably wide range of artists over the years, from Korn and Seether to Lindsey Stirling, Wagakki Band, and Bring Me the Horizon. Most recently she teamed up with Halsey on "Hand That Feeds", a track for The World of John Wick: Ballerina, released in 2025. Lee is also the American chairperson for the epilepsy awareness foundation Out of the Shadows, a cause she has championed for years.
