Few artists have blurred the line between classical and pop quite like Andrea Bocelli. The Italian tenor shot to national attention in 1994 after winning the newcomers section of the Sanremo Music Festival with a record score, and he has barely slowed down since. His album Romanza ranks among the best selling albums of all time, Sacred Arias holds the record as the biggest selling classical album by any solo artist in history, and his duet with Sarah Brightman on "Con te partirò" is one of the best selling singles ever recorded. The 2019 album Sì debuted at number one on both the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200, his first chart topper in either country. Bocelli has shared stages and studios with some of the biggest names in music, duetting with Celine Dion on "The Prayer" for the animated film Quest for Camelot, a song that won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song. With over 90 million records sold across 15 solo studio albums and nine complete operas, he has spent decades proving that classical music and the pop charts are not mutually exclusive.
