Andreas Gabalier (AT)

About

Andreas Gabalier is an Austrian folk and rock and roll singer from Graz who writes and composes all his own material. He got his start by presenting songs to ORF Landesstudio Steiermark while still studying law, having recorded his early work in a hobby studio. That self made quality has always been part of his appeal. His music sits in the schlager and schlagerparty world, a feel good corner of German language pop with roots in folk tradition. One of his most personal songs is Amoi seg' ma uns wieder, a track dedicated to his father and younger sister, both of whom he lost within a few years of each other. That emotional weight gives his catalogue a depth that goes well beyond the dancefloor.
