Andy Timmons is the kind of guitarist who makes other guitarists nervous. The Texas based American has spent decades building a reputation for technical brilliance across an impressive range of styles, from the glam metal thunder of Danger Danger, where he helped sell over a million records and score two number one MTV videos, to jazz fusion work with drummer Simon Phillips across four albums, to Beatles inspired pop tributes with his Andy Timmons Band. His 2022 solo album Electric Truth was voted the sixth best guitar album of the year by Guitar World readers, a solid nod to his staying power. Timmons has an equally impressive list of collaborators, having served as music director and guitarist for Olivia Newton John on multiple US tours, recorded with Paul Stanley and Paula Abdul, and shared stages with the likes of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, and Ace Frehley. Ibanez has been building signature guitars for him since the 1990s. His most recent solo record, Recovery, came out in 2025.
