About
Angelo Benson makes pop that swings between big, bombastic arrangements and dark, sweeping ballads, with a soulful edge running through it all. He sings in English, and his lyrics sit in vulnerable territory: love that stays out of reach, longing, and plain self doubt. The mood leans heavy, with a sense of creeping despair behind the songs. What ties it together is his voice, which is emotional and direct enough to leave a room feeling a bit defenceless by the end.
