About
Also known as: Erik Stephens
Apollo Brown is a producer from Detroit, working out of Grand Rapids, who has made a name in underground hip hop with a very particular sound. His beats are dusty and soulful, built on the boom bap template rather than anything chasing the trends of the day. That consistency is the point: you hear a few bars and you know whose production it is. His work tends to sit alongside sharp lyricists, and Brooklyn rapper Skyzoo, known for a pointed, story driven flow, is one of the names he shares a stage with. Together they deliver hip hop in its stripped back, unfiltered form.
