Naples trio Ash Code have been quietly building one of the more compelling catalogues in European dark wave since 2014, when singer Alessandro Belluccio, keyboardist Claudia Nottebella and bassist Adriano Belluccio signed to a Greek label within weeks of posting their first songs online. Their debut album Oblivion was framed around Nietzschean philosophy, treating forgetfulness as an active force rather than a weakness, and landed at number two in Sonic Seducer's Soundcheck chart. Each record since has pushed the concept further: Posthuman folded in Mellotron, Theremin and noisy analogue synths alongside the icy post punk grooves, while 2018's Perspektive hit number one in the same chart and earned them a deal with Metropolis Records. A US tour followed in 2019, capped off with a Part Time Punks session in New York. The 2021 Fear EP brought in remixes from Clan of Xymox and Molchat Doma, showing the kind of company they keep.
