Asking Alexandria built their reputation on a ferocious blend of metalcore and electronicore, but they have never stood still. Formed in Dubai by guitarist Ben Bruce before relocating to York, England, the band found their footing with the 2009 debut Stand Up and Scream, a record that put them firmly on the US hard rock radar. Singles like "Final Episode (Let's Change the Channel)" and "Not the American Average" both went on to earn RIAA gold certifications years after release, which says a lot about the staying power of that record. They kept pushing through lineup turbulence, including vocalist Danny Worsnop leaving in 2015 and then returning in 2016 after his replacement Denis Stoff departed. The reunion brought a noticeable shift in direction: their 2017 self titled album leaned away from the heavy metalcore sound toward something more melodic, a lane they continued to explore on Like a House on Fire in 2020 and See What's on the Inside in 2021. Their eighth studio album Where Do We Go from Here? arrived in 2023, showing no signs of the band running out of road.
