About

Also known as: 에이티즈

Ateez built their name as the K pop group that treats performance as the main event. Korean media call them "Global Performance Idols", and the culture ministry once tagged them "Next Generation Leaders". The eight members, Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho, debuted in October 2018 with Treasure EP.1: All to Zero and its pirate themed lead single "Pirate King". Leader Hongjoong actually got the whole thing rolling when a letter and sample mixtape he sent to KQ Entertainment caught a staff member's attention. The numbers since then are hard to ignore. They have sold over eleven million physical albums, hit No.1 on the Billboard 200 with The World EP.Fin: Will, and became the first K pop boy group to play Coachella in 2024. They also headlined Mawazine in Morocco, another first for a K pop act. Zero: Fever Part.1 went platinum in South Korea, and The World EP.1: Movement became their first million seller there.
