Jennifer Parkin launched Ayria in early 2003 after leaving the futurepop and EBM outfit Epsilon Minus, and wasted no time: the debut album Debris landed on Alfa Matrix before the year was out. The project sits squarely in the electro industrial and futurepop space, blending driving synths with Parkin's vocals, and has built its reputation through relentless touring across North America, Europe and even Japan. She has shared stages with VNV Nation and The Crüxshadows, and popped up at events like DragonCon alongside some unlikely company. Six albums deep now, with the most recent being This Is My Battle Cry on Artoffact Records in 2022, Ayria has kept a consistent output across nearly two decades. Along the way Parkin has contributed guest vocals to projects from Belgium and Mexico, appeared on Front Line Assembly remixes, and kept the double CD tradition alive by packaging her releases with remix discs and bonus material. A steady, genuinely underground act with real longevity.
