About
B Movie built their reputation as one of the more understated new wave acts to emerge from England in the early 1980s, carving out a sound that caught the ear of the Some Bizzare label alongside labelmates like Soft Cell. Their singles 'Remembrance Day' and 'Nowhere Girl' remain the touchstones of their catalog, both cracking the UK Singles Chart even as a full studio album stayed stubbornly out of reach until 1985's Forever Running on Sire Records. The band's guitarist Paul Statham went on to co write Dido's 'Here with Me', the title track from her debut No Angel, an album that has shifted close to 20 million copies worldwide. He also worked extensively with ex Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy on the albums Love Hysteria and Deep. B Movie themselves reformed and kept recording, releasing Climate of Fear in 2016 and adding Hidden Treasures to their catalog in 2025, proving there's still life in the machine.
