B Tribe built their sound around classical Spanish guitar and flamenco textures layered over trip hop flavoured ambient grooves, a combination that felt genuinely fresh when their debut single Fiesta Fatal hit number one on European dance charts in 1993. The project is the work of German producers Claus Zundel, Markus Staab and Ralf Hamm, who also created Sacred Spirit, and they recorded all their albums in Zundel's own studio on Ibiza. Spanish guitarist Paco Fernandez and Frankfurt Radio Orchestra cellist Eric Plummetaz add live warmth to the recordings, and singer Deborah Blando has also contributed. Their 2001 album Spiritual Spiritual is the most stripped back and atmospheric of the bunch, with barely a drumbeat in earshot. The project kept going through the 2000s, releasing the album 5 in 2003 with vocal contributions from African supermodel Luna Mohamed, and a sixth record that appeared in 2008.
