About
Baby Condor is a duo of brothers, Nolle and Beinte Groen, who spent twenty years in various bands before deciding to make something that was entirely their own. The result is a sound built on warm, layered arrangements and analog instruments, with songs that lean on strong melodies and storytelling lyrics rather than any one genre. Think open American highways, coastal roads and a summer evening in Laurel Canyon. The brothers treat the studio as an instrument in its own right, an approach that goes back a long way in pop history. Their influences come from the Great American Songbook and from songwriters and producers like James Taylor, Paul Simon, Harry Nilsson, Marvin Gaye, Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson and Elton John. You can hear that lineage in how carefully the songs are put together.
