About
Back to the Country is a country music show built around the golden era sounds of artists like Johnny Cash, with detours into sixties pop and a touch of rock. The concept started about twenty years ago under a different name and has since become a fixture in Dutch theatre programmes. Two performers anchor the show: Savannah, a veteran of the European country scene with decades of experience, and Dick van Altena, a musician celebrating fifty years in the business. The set runs for roughly two hours and traditionally wraps up with an after party in the theatre foyer. By the time of its sixteenth edition the show had clearly found a loyal and returning audience.
