About
Bakelied is a four piece band with a soft spot for the Dutch language song, both Dutch and Flemish. The group grew out of the orbit of Joris Linssen & Caramba, and their setup is as classic as their repertoire: four instruments, three voices, and a fondness for sharp suits. Their show Mooier in je Moerstaal moves between timeless repertoire reworked with a fresh ear and original songs drawn from the members' collective musical backgrounds. The range is wide, from the chanson influenced work of Shaffy to the contemporary pop of Froukje, taking in thoughtful listening songs and full throated singalongs along the way. The lineup brings together Djem on vocals and percussion, Marcel on vocals, accordion and piano, Kees on vocals and guitar, and Erik on double bass.
