About
Banner Pilot have been flying the flag for melodic punk out of Minneapolis since 2005, drawing from the same well as Jawbreaker, Hot Water Music, and The Lawrence Arms. Formed by Nate Gangelhoff and Nick Johnson after their previous band Rivethead called it quits, they caught the ear of Go Kart Records with their early EP Pass the Poison before landing on the storied Fat Wreck Chords roster in 2009. Their Fat Wreck debut Collapser put them firmly on the map, and they've kept the catalog growing with Heart Beats Pacific and Souvenir. The band tours with genuine punk credibility, having shared stages with Dead to Me and Teenage Bottlerocket and played The Fest in Gainesville more than once. Outside the band, bassist Nate also plays in The Gateway District and Off With Their Heads, and has published a book collecting his zines under the title You Idiot.
