About
Beach House has spent two decades quietly reshaping what dream pop can sound like, layering Victoria Legrand's hazy vocals over Alex Scally's guitar textures and waves of keyboard into something that feels both weightless and heavy at the same time. The Baltimore duo built a devoted following through a run of critically loved albums, with Teen Dream marking the point where the wider world caught up, and Bloom pushing them into the Billboard top ten. Their seventh record, 7, found them nudging into new sonic territory, while the sprawling Once Twice Melody arrived in 2022 as their most ambitious project yet, released in four chapters. For a lot of younger listeners, the entry point was Space Song, a track from their 2015 album Depression Cherry that went viral on TikTok years after release and introduced Beach House to a whole new generation. Drummer James Barone, who had been touring with them since 2016, became an official member in 2022, rounding out the lineup that has kept the band's slow, shimmering sound evolving without losing what made it special.
