Beauty School Dropout hit the ground running with serious co signs: Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and Mark Hoppus of blink 182 helped shape the Los Angeles rock band early on, with Hoppus even jumping on the mic for "Almost Famous", a standout track from their 2022 debut album We Made Plans and God Laughed. That record leaned into heavier guitars and introspective lyrics, a step up from the pop punk energy of their 2021 EP Boys Do Cry. Their second album, Ready to Eat, followed in October 2023, expanding their catalog with singles like "Beautiful Waste" and "One Night Stand You". Along the way they opened for Turnstile and blink 182, which says plenty about where they sit in the alternative rock conversation. The band keeps busy too, with a third studio album, Where Did All the Butterflies Go?, already listed in their discography.
