Becky G built her name uploading rap and pop covers to YouTube as a teenager, catching the ear of producer Dr. Luke and landing a deal with Kemosabe Records through Sony. Her early English language work, including the 2014 single "Shower" which cracked the US Billboard Hot 100 top twenty, showed real crossover potential before she pivoted hard into Latin music. That shift paid off: her debut album Mala Santa landed in the top five on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, and singles like "Mayores" and "Sin Pijama" both hit the top five on Hot Latin Songs. She has kept expanding her range ever since, moving into regional Mexican sounds with the albums Esquinas and Encuentros. "Mamiii" from Esquemas went to number one on Hot Latin Songs, and "Por el Contrario" topped the Regional Mexican Airplay chart. She has also built a screen career alongside the music, with roles in Power Rangers, A.X.L., and Blue Beetle, plus a 2025 documentary called Rebbeca that follows her personal life and the making of Esquinas.
