Becky Hill made history in June 2014 when her collaboration with Oliver Heldens, "Gecko (Overdrive)", hit number one on the UK Singles Chart, making her the first Voice UK contestant ever to pull that off. The Bewdley born pop and house artist had already been building serious momentum before that, co writing and singing on Wilkinson's "Afterglow", which reached number eight on the UK Singles Chart and topped the UK Dance Chart in 2013. Her knack for writing and feature work kept her busy through a string of collaborations with MK, Matoma, Sigala and Rudimental, among others. Her debut album "Only Honest on the Weekend" eventually arrived, and her profile has only grown since. A 2022 Brit Award for Best Dance Act, followed by a second win in the same category in 2023, confirmed what her chart run had been suggesting for years. She also scored two Brit nominations that year including British Song of the Year for "Remember" with David Guetta. Recent footage of "Swim" performed live at YouTube Music Night in 2024 shows she has not lost any momentum.
