Bell X1 have built a reputation on never standing still. The Irish trio, Paul Noonan, David Geraghty and Dominic Phillips, have roamed freely across indie rock, synth pop, folk rock, post punk and electronica over the course of their albums, drawing comparisons to everyone from Talking Heads and Radiohead to Elbow and The Blue Nile. That restlessness has paid off at home, where their 2005 album Flock went five times platinum in Ireland and hit number one, while their earlier record Music in Mouth went double platinum. Their music has a knack for finding its way into the cultural conversation. "Eve, the Apple of My Eye" soundtracked a memorable scene in The O.C. and landed on the official OC Mix 4 compilation, while other tracks have featured in Grey's Anatomy. They have performed on the Late Show with David Letterman, and their back catalogue now stretches to albums including Blue Lights on the Runway, Bloodless Coup, Chop Chop and Arms, showing a band that has kept at it long after many of their contemporaries called it a day.
