About
Also known as: Isabel Farley White
Rolling Stone called her songwriting "sublime Appalachian heartbreak," and that pretty much sums up the pull of Bella White. She blends traditional bluegrass and Appalachian folk with modern Americana, keeping the arrangements sparse and acoustic and the songs introspective. Hazel Dickens, Gillian Welch and Joni Mitchell are among her cited influences. Her debut album, Just Like Leaving, came out independently in 2020, recorded in Vermont with producer Patrick M'Gonigle, and Rounder Records reissued it in 2021. Among Other Things followed in 2023, produced by Jonathan Wilson in Topanga, California. That same year she played the Grand Ole Opry for the first time, and her song "Burn Me Once" landed on The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes soundtrack. A covers EP, Five for Silver, arrived in 2024, and her third album, A Sign In The Weather, came out in 2026. She has played Newport Folk Festival and Stagecoach, and toured with The Paper Kites, Sierra Ferrell and The Milk Carton Kids.
