Ber, the stage name of Berit Dybing, has built a quietly compelling indie pop catalogue out of the kind of romantic frustration most people just complain about to their friends. Her three EPs, And I'm Still Thinking About That, Halfway, and Room for You, trace a pretty consistent emotional thread: being hung up on someone who probably doesn't deserve it. Halfway in particular zeroes in on the specific misery of trying to get over a guy who ghosted her, with tracks like "Boys Who Kiss You in Their Car" and "Your Internet Sucks" doing the heavy lifting. She first caught wider attention when a snippet of "Meant to Be", a collaboration with Isle of Wight singer songwriter Charlie Oriain, went viral on TikTok in 2021.
