Bernd van den Bos is a Dutch pianist and bandleader who has worked alongside a wide range of performers, including Brigitte Kaandorp, Simone Kleinsma and André van Duin. He moves comfortably between the worlds of popular and classical music, and that dual fluency shapes everything he does. His theatre concert dedicated to Freddie Mercury and Queen puts that range on full display: songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody To Love and We Are The Champions are reimagined for solo piano, sometimes played close to the familiar versions and sometimes given a classical arrangement that reflects a shared passion for that repertoire between Mercury and Van den Bos himself. The show also weaves in stories about Mercury's life and music, alongside Van den Bos's own musical journey.
