Half of the beloved Dutch duo Acda en De Munnik, Paul de Munnik has spent decades making music and theater that landed right in the heart of the Netherlands. He and Thomas Acda met at the Kleinkunstacademie in Amsterdam, graduated together in 1993, and quickly won the Pisuisse prize for their joint project. By 1995 they were back together with the theater show Zwerf'On, which turned into a recording career after audiences demanded the songs on CD. De Munnik has never been content to just do one thing at a time. Outside the duo he has toured with programs like Brellando, built around the songs of Jacques Brel, and put together a tribute book to songwriter Bram Vermeulen. His solo work brought him to intimate venues across the country, and in early 2021 he released Als ik je weer zie alongside Acda, Maan and Typhoon. Since early 2023, he and Acda have reunited as a duo.
