About
Big Monti Amundson is a guitarist and vocalist from Eugene, Oregon whose raw, electric blues and rock and roll style regularly draws comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughan. His breakthrough album The Mean Eighteen came out in 1991, and its success led him to spend time living in Amsterdam and touring Europe extensively for about a year and a half. He has a long and well travelled career behind him, summed up neatly by the four disc retrospective The Songwriter from 2010. Around that release, Amundson reflected that he has basically spent his whole life writing the same song: about broken down cars and drinking songs, but mostly about love and loss, both of which he says he has known in abundance. Honest stuff, delivered with serious guitar chops.
