Birdy, the stage name of Jasmine van den Bogaerde, first turned heads at 12 when she won the Open Mic UK talent competition, beating out 10,000 other competitors. Her real breakthrough came with a hushed, delicate cover of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love", which hit number one in the Netherlands and racked up six platinum certifications in Australia. Her debut album followed in 2011 and topped the charts in Australia, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Since then she has built a catalog of original material across five studio albums, moving from the introspective pop of Fire Within and Beautiful Lies through to Young Heart in 2021. Her most recent album, Portraits, arrived in 2023 and includes the singles "Raincatchers", "Heartbreaker", "Your Arms" and "Paradise Calling". Along the way she picked up a Grammy nomination for "Learn Me Right", a collaboration with Mumford and Sons for the Pixar film Brave, and a Brit Award nomination for Best British Female Solo Artist.
