Blitzkid are one of horror punk's most committed acts, a duo out of Bluefield, West Virginia built around the vocal tag team of TB Monstrosity and Argyle Goolsby. Their melodic take on the genre sets them apart, with Allmusic calling their dual vocals "immediately appealing", and reviewers comparing their sound to punk peers like Bouncing Souls, NOFX, and AFI while still carrying that classic Misfits darkness. The Misfits connection runs deep: ex Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein guested on their album Apparitional, and Dr. Chud played drums for the band at multiple gigs including the massive M'era Luna Festival in Germany. Over their original run from 1997 to 2012 they released five studio albums, racked up 260 live dates in a single year, played festival stages in front of tens of thousands across Europe, and even headlined in Moscow. Goolsby also found time to play bass for Doyle's Gorgeous Frankenstein project and for horror punk outfit The Undead. After reuniting for tribute shows in 2019, the band announced a full reunion tour, giving fans plenty of reason to revisit five albums worth of horror drenched punk rock.
