Columbus, Ohio rapper and producer Blueprint, born Albert Shepard, built his reputation in the underground hip hop scene before a wider audience caught on through his appearance on "Final Frontier" from RJD2's debut album Deadringer. That collaboration grew into Soul Position, the duo he and RJD2 formed together, releasing two albums as a team. As a solo artist, Blueprint has put out a string of releases on Rhymesayers Entertainment, including 1988, Adventures in Counter Culture, and Respect the Architect, while also founding his own Weightless Recordings label. Beyond making records, Blueprint stays busy as one half of the rap group Greenhouse alongside Illogic, the two of them also co hosting the podcast Super Duty Tough Work, which covers hip hop, business and art. He has written four books on top of all that, making him one of the more quietly prolific figures in independent hip hop.
