Bob Sinclar, the stage name of Christophe Le Friant, built his reputation on what he called "peace, love, and house music", helping define the French touch sound through heavily filtered disco strings and smart sampling. He took the name from the lead character in the 1973 film Le Magnifique, and his label Yellow Productions became a home for that signature style. Before the Bob Sinclar era, he was already active under names like The Mighty Bop and Reminiscence Quartet, leaning more into hip hop and jazz. His biggest commercial moments came in the mid 2000s, with "Love Generation" featuring Gary "Nesta" Pine and "World, Hold On (Children of the Sky)" with Steve Edwards both becoming genuine international hits. He kept the releases coming well into the 2010s, working with artists ranging from Raffaella Carrà to Pitbull, and his remix credits span everyone from James Brown to Rihanna. More recently he teamed up with Italian act Matia Bazar for a version of the classic "Ti Sento".
