About
Also known as: Brent Patrick Cobb
Brent Cobb writes the kind of country that feels lived in rather than polished up for radio. His voice draws comparisons to Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, though producers have also heard Al Green in there, and his sound sits closer to Americana and blue collar country than anything you'd call contemporary Nashville. He grew up in Ellaville, Georgia, and that Southern upbringing bleeds into pretty much every line he writes. Before he ever put out his own records, Cobb was quietly shaping the output of bigger names, penning tracks for Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, and Kellie Pickler among others. His 2016 major label debut, Shine On Rainy Day, earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album and cracked the top 20 on the Billboard country albums chart. His most recent record, Southern Star, came out in 2023.
