About
Also known as: BCMB
Wes Leavins named his Chicago band after a teenaged pen pal correspondence he once had with French actress Brigitte Bardot, which tells you something about the romantic, slightly cinematic ambition running through Brigitte Calls Me Baby's music. The quartet blends jangly post punk guitar with upbeat new wave synths and tight, punchy arrangements, drawing comparisons to the Smiths and the Strokes, while Leavins' crooner vocals pull from Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Morrissey. Before releasing a single note publicly, they were already opening for Inhaler and Muse. Their South by Southwest set in 2023 landed them a deal with ATO Records, and their debut album The Future Is Our Way Out followed in 2024. They supported Morrissey on UK and Europe dates in 2025, including his homecoming show in Manchester. Now they are deep into a new chapter: their second album Irreversible, with singles already dropping including Slumber Party and I Danced With Another Love In My Dream.
