Bruno Cocset is one of France's most dedicated baroque cellists, with a reputation built on digging up composers the rest of the world had largely forgotten. His recordings of figures like Jean Baptiste Barrière and Evaristo Felice Dall'Abaco brought serious attention to a neglected corner of the repertoire, while his takes on Bach's Cello Suites and Vivaldi's Cello Concerti and Sonatas brought a fresh, historically grounded perspective to well worn classics. He trained under some of the greats of early music, including Anner Bylsma, Jaap Schröder, and Christophe Coin, before going on to collaborate with leading historically informed ensembles across Europe, most notably Jordi Savall's Le Concert des Nations. He eventually founded his own group, Les Basses Réunies, which became the main vehicle for his ongoing exploration of the baroque cello repertoire.
