About
Can Bonomo is probably best known internationally as Turkey's entry at Eurovision 2012, where his song "Love Me Back" landed him seventh place in the Baku final, making him the last Turkish act to ever compete at the contest before Turkey pulled out. But Eurovision was just one moment in a career that spans Turkish pop, jazz and Anatolian rock. Based in İzmir originally, he has put out six studio albums, from the debut "Meczup" in 2011 through to "Kara Konular" in 2024, steadily building a sound that moves between melodic pop and more textured, alternative territory. Beyond music, Bonomo is a published poet and novelist, with several poetry collections to his name and a novel released in 2024, which gives you a sense of how seriously he takes language as a craft.
